Royals FanFest is this weekend and there is sure to be lots of talk about big changes on the team.
Free-agent outfielder Lorenzo Cain signed a five-year deal worth $80-million with the Milwaukee Brewers on January 25.
Cain told MLB.com he believes they are contenders for the playoffs.
"We've got a chance to be pretty good," he said. "I'm looking forward to doing whatever I can to help."
The 31-year-old was originally drafted by the Brewers and he credits the team for his development.
" I got my first hit with them, my first home run," he said. "It means a lot to go back there. I want to win."
Cain also stated that he absolutely loves Royals fans and will miss them.
Meanwhile, shortstop Alcides Escobar and the Royals have reached a deal. According to MLB reporter Robert Murray, Escobar will need to undergo a physical, but the interest is mutual.
